GN, a Denmark-based global hearing-technology leader and parent company of ReSound and Beltone, has announced an expansion of its ReSound Savi “essential” hearing aid line along with new fitting-software capabilities. The updates are designed to give hearing care professionals more tools and help a broader range of users access high-quality sound and modern connectivity. Specifically, they include:
- ReSound Savi line expansion with new In-the-Canal (ITC) and Completely-in-Canal (CIC) custom styles—including what GN says is the first-ever essential wireless ITC to support Auracast™ broadcast audio.
- The company is introducing ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 this spring, with plans to make it the first hearing-aid fitting software to add NAL-NL3™ support for more precise personalization.
- GN adds that newly released research from Oldenburg University reports strong speech-understanding-in-noise results for ReSound Vivia versus other premium hearing aids.1
New ITC and CIC options for ReSound Savi
GN is extending the ReSound Savi essential family beyond Receiver-In-Ear (RIC) models by adding new custom designs that fit directly in the ear canal. The new ITC and CIC options are intended to provide a discreet look while maintaining best-in-class sound quality.

In a notable first for essential product lines, ReSound is also introducing a wireless ITC option that connects with Auracast, enabling streaming access to compatible public broadcasts and private audio sources. GN says the continued rollout of Auracast across its hearing aid ranges reflects its commitment to innovation and its broader goal of expanding accessibility through wireless innovation.
“We want more people to experience the difference that advanced hearing technology can make in everyday life,” said GN Hearing Division President Peter Justesen in a press statement. “With our new ReSound Savi custom styles, we are strengthening our essential range to meet more individual needs and preferences. Together with our industry-leading fitting advancements, these developments give people easier access to great technology that simply helps them hear better and feel more connected."

New tools for hearing care professionals: ReSound Smart Fit 2.3
GN is also introducing ReSound Smart Fit 2.3, a new version of its fitting software that features updates aimed at boosting both efficiency and accuracy in clinics. One of the improvements is an enhanced AutoREM (Real-Ear Measurement) workflow, designed to help ensure output precisely matches a user’s ear acoustics for a more natural and comfortable experience, while offering consistent guidance to streamline and speed up the fitting process.
In addition, GN announced planned support for NAL-NL3, the latest prescriptive fitting method from the National Acoustic Laboratories. With a forthcoming software update to Smart Fit 2.3, GN says it expects Smart Fit to become the first fitting platform to include NAL-NL3—enabling more individualized amplification targets and greater fitting consistency. Once available in Smart Fit 2.3, clinicians will be able to apply NAL-NL3 when programming ReSound hearing aids to help deliver clearer, more natural sound and improved speech understanding.
NAL Director Brent Edwards says this can help clinicians deliver a highly precise, personalized listening experience and raise the standard of care.
Brent Edwards, Director of the National Acoustic LaboratoriesWe are incredibly excited that ReSound Smart Fit 2.3 will be the first fitting software to integrate NAL-NL3. This will enable hearing care professionals to harness the full power of our cutting-edge prescriptive formula, providing their patients with the most precise and personalized sound experience possible. It truly elevates the standard of care.

ReSound Vivia: Independently evaluated performance in noise
GN also highlighted new research validating ReSound Vivia for one of the most common challenges reported by hearing-aid users: understanding speech in noisy environments. According to GN, a recent study conducted at Oldenburg University confirmed Vivia as the “world’s best for hearing in noise,” including group-conversation and selective-attention listening tasks, compared with other premium hearing aids.¹
Availability
ReSound Savi ITC and CIC, ReSound Smart Fit 2.3, and the related Beltone equivalents—Beltone Commence and Beltone Solus Max 2.3—are scheduled to launch first in the United States, Austria, and Germany on February 19, with additional markets expected in the months ahead. The launch will also include new AllFit domes offered in 19 sizes and shapes. GN says NAL-NL3 support in Smart Fit 2.3 is planned for a later software release this spring.
