SoundGear, an Eden Prairie, Minn, based division of Starkey Hearing, has announced a new partnership with Realtree to increase awareness of hearing protection among hunters, shooting sports participants, and other outdoor enthusiasts.
The collaboration brings together SoundGear, known for its electronic hearing protection products, and Realtree, one of the most recognized names in camouflage and outdoor lifestyle branding. Together, the companies plan to highlight the importance of protecting hearing in environments where sudden, high-intensity sounds—such as gunfire—can pose a risk to long-term hearing health.
As part of the partnership, SoundGear will release the SoundGear Shield x Realtree Special Edition, a Realtree-branded version of its 93 dB electronic hearing protection product. The device is designed to reduce exposure to hazardous impulse noise while still allowing wearers to hear softer sounds, including conversation and environmental cues.
Michael Scholl, SoundGear Chief Business Development Officer and EVP of Corporate RelationsNoise-induced hearing loss is one of the most preventable health conditions, yet awareness and adoption of hearing protection still lag behind in many outdoor and shooting environments. By partnering with Realtree, we have an opportunity to reach more consumers with an important message: protecting your hearing should be considered just as essential as any other piece of safety equipment. Together, we are helping make hearing protection a standard part of the outdoor experience.
The special-edition product pairs SoundGear’s sound-management technology with exclusive Realtree-themed accessories. According to the companies, the product is intended for hunters, shooters, and outdoor users who want dependable hearing protection without giving up comfort, awareness, or connection to their surroundings.
Beyond the product launch, SoundGear and Realtree say the partnership will also focus on education and outreach. Planned efforts include joint marketing, consumer awareness campaigns, and engagement with the hunting and shooting sports industries to encourage more outdoor enthusiasts to make hearing conservation a routine part of their equipment choices.
The SoundGear Shield x Realtree Special Edition is expected to be available through select retail and online channels later in 2026.
