Advanced Technology in an Essential Package
Let’s take a more in-depth look at Oticon Jet PX technology and features.
Deep Neural Network (DNN) Processing
The standout feature of Oticon Jet PX 1 is its integration of an embedded Deep Neural Network, or DNN. This AI engine is trained on 12 million real-life sound environments to better identify and balance the elements of a sound scene, such as speech, noise, and environmental ambiance. Instead of applying static gain rules, the DNN processes sound in a way that mimics how the human brain naturally prioritizes and interprets audio cues. The result is clearer speech and a more pleasant listening experience, even in noisy settings like restaurants or social gatherings. More advanced DNN processing is available on Jet PX 1, the more advanced of the two tech levels.
Second-Generation OpenSound Navigator
OpenSound Navigator is Oticon’s proprietary sound management system, and the slightly older second-generation version, included in the Jet PX, helps wearers maintain 360-degree access to important sounds. Rather than relying solely on directional microphones to focus on what’s in front of the user, OpenSound Navigator dynamically balances multiple sound sources. This approach preserves environmental awareness while also reducing distracting noise. In practical terms, it means users can follow conversations even when multiple people are speaking or when background sounds are constantly shifting. Jet PX utilizes a slightly older version of OpenSound Navigator, as its third generation is showcased in Oticon Intent.
BrainHearing Technology
Jet PX leverages Oticon’s BrainHearing philosophy, which centers on supporting the brain’s ability to make sense of sound—rather than merely amplifying it. By delivering sound in a way that preserves contrast, clarity, and balance.
Streaming and Connectivity
Oticon Jet PX is fully compatible with both Apple and select Android devices (see the Oticon compatibility page for more details). Thanks to support for Bluetooth Low Energy and the ASHA protocol, users can stream audio directly from their smartphones, tablets, or computers without needing additional accessories. On Apple devices, hands-free calling is also supported. This level of wireless convenience ensures users stay connected to phone calls, music, and other media wherever they go. Jet PX also pairs with Oticon’s accessory suite for even more connectivity options, including remote microphones and TV adapters.
Oticon Companion App
The Oticon Companion app enhances user control and customization. Through the app, wearers can adjust volume, change programs, and even tailor tinnitus support sounds to their liking. It also features a helpful “Find My Hearing Aids” function and allows remote counseling with a hearing care provider using Oticon’s RemoteCare system. This makes it easy for users to manage their hearing aids discreetly and efficiently without visiting a clinic.
Battery and Charging Options
Jet PX offers both rechargeable and traditional battery-powered models. The rechargeable versions use lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 24 hours of use on a full charge. Charging is quick and easy, especially with the optional Oticon SmartCharger, which doubles as a portable charging case with a built-in power bank. For those who prefer disposable batteries, the 312 zinc-air models offer a reliable 50–60 hours of battery life depending on usage and streaming habits. Having both options allows users to choose a solution that best fits their lifestyle.
